Risks in RedR Australian programs/activities

I am aware that RedR Australia programs/activities involve adventurous outdoor activities in which I may have had no previous experience, and which may demand physical and mental effort in a variety of weather conditions.

I am aware that RedR Australia programs/activities are undertaken in rural or remote areas where there may be significantly fewer medical, emergency response, domestic transport or any other type of facilities available, than in general everyday life.

I agree that my participation in all RedR Australia programs/activities is undertaken at my own risk.

Indemnity

I fully indemnify RedR Australia, its directors, course instructors, members, contractors, servants and agents from all liability arising from injury, damage, or other loss (whether direct, indirect, consequential or special, fatal or otherwise) arising out of my participation in RedR Australia programs/activities.

Voluntary assumption of risk

I acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated with my participation in the program.

Without limiting the generality of the clause 1, I acknowledge that personal and property loss or damage are possible risks of my participation in the program, and may result from, without limitation: walking, climbing, running, swimming, driving, exposure to changing weather conditions, contact with flora and fauna, falling over/in/under, handling equipment, carrying heavy weight, increased physical activity, etc.

I acknowledge that I have knowledge of and have considered the risk associated with my participation in the program.

I voluntarily agree to participate in the program and voluntarily agree to assume all risks in any way associated with my participation in the program.

Medical information and assistance

I will notify RedR Australia of any updates and changes to the information I have previously provided to ensure that the information relating to me is correct, complete, and current.

In case of injury or illness, I authorise RedR Australia to obtain any medical attention it deems appropriate, including ambulances or other rescue transport. I also agree to accept full financial responsibility for all such emergency, medical, and related expenses.

Training conditions

In participating in the RedR Australia programs/activities, I agree to the following:

a. I will consider other participants as fully as possible;

b. I will participate in all RedR Australia programs/activities to the best of my ability;

c. I will not indulge in any drugs, prescribed or otherwise, without the express knowledge and acceptance of RedR or RedR Australia course instructors; and

d. I will follow all safety instructions and regulations.

Cancellation Fees

Invoices must be paid in full at least 14 calendar days prior to the advertised course commencement date. RedR Australia reserves the right to cancel an applicant’s place in a course if the fee balance is not received 14 calendar days prior to the course commencement date.

RedR will allow a participant to defer their participation to a subsequent course without penalty once ONLY if that notice is received 14 calendar days preceding the advertised start date of the course originally enrolled in. Course enrolment may be transferable to another person, without penalty, and you should contact training@redr.org.au to discuss options. If cancellation from a course occurs following course commencement, then 100% of the course fee is non-refundable.

Activities that may pose risk to participant

I agree to notify RedR Australia course instructors and, if appropriate, withdraw from a RedR Australia program/activity if, at any time I consider the activity may pose an unacceptable risk to my physical or mental health.

Research

I consent to RedR Australia using any of my feedback or research data.

Anti-discrimination

I accept and understand that RedR Australia endorses anti-discrimination practices and is governed by current Australian Anti-Discrimination legislation and policy. I also undertake to ensure that my participation in RedR Australia programs/activities is consistent with this legislation and policy.

Privacy statement

RedR Australia is a humanitarian organisation whose mission is to relieve suffering in disasters by selecting, training and providing competent and effective relief personnel to humanitarian agencies worldwide.

RedR Australia is a subject to the National Privacy Principles (NPPs).

The information you provide to RedR Australia by completing this form will be used for the purposes of organising and managing RedR training programs and training related activities.

Your personal information will be disclosed to RedR Course Trainers, and may also be disclosed to third parties such as medical and emergency personnel, or to others rendering assistance in the event of accident, injury or illness.

If you choose not to provide RedR Australia with the information nominated on this form, you may be unable to participate in the training program or particular training related activities.
